MacArthur Justice Center Gives a Voice to the Voiceless in Chicago’s Legal System
When our justice system fails to serve and protect all citizens, attorneys at the MacArthur Justice Center (MJC) are there to fight for a fair and just legal process. From exposing police torture in Chicago under Jon Burge to advocating for U.S. Military detainees abused at Guantanamo Bay, MJC has been at the forefront of some of the nation’s most dramatic human rights battles.
Since 2000, VDC has managed media relations for MJC, publicizing key moments in cases and providing reporters with complete details on complex court battles. VDC has garnered national and international media coverage for MJC and their clients, including placement in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribuneand scores of international publications.
VDC has also helped to establish attorneys at MJC as expert spokespeople on legal issues from capital punishment and first amendment violations to wrongful convictions and police abuse.
